The is so much competition for readers that article directories and forums are less attractive to readers and to search engines (which prefer blogs). I agree that there is a huge amount of competition in the forums and directories. The best place to be is on the first page of Google, Bing and Yahoo for any product or service you want. I’m actually getting all the effective keyword phrases I’m going after right now and plan on getting as many of my posts as high as I can. It’s mostly just math and backlinks. Guest posting is another part of getting where we want to be. If we can take time to document all the keywords we’re using for a post and do some research on the top ranked post we will see exactly what we need to do to beat them out. Getting backlinks is good but it might not get the results we’re going after if we don’t complete the process. We need to see what the top competitor is doing on their website on seo and a few other things. It takes time to get everything set up but it’s worth it. The top page rank for your products and services is where all the organic traffic is.
Writing a good article takes a some passion, knowledge, and the ability to write it that your readers will understand it. In the beginning, when you start a blog or even in article marketing, you will have to brainstorm your pieces. In time, it does get easier.

Wow, that is a lot of detail for an article! I must say that I dont’ know if I would take that much time to write a post.. Yes, it is important if you want so much detail, but I am a more casual person and I think that will draw a different type of audience. Having an outline is a superb method of developing your writing skills…especially if you are not naturally talented. I tend to write from the perspective of my communication teacher in college. He used to say, “Tell them what you are going to tell them. Then, tell them. Then tell them what you told them”.
