How to choose your article titles is crucial when creating your articles. I will reveal some amazing strategies on how to choose your article titles in this article. You can check more about this at The Copywriters Guild or The Wealth Experiment. Not everyone realizes that article writing offline and article writing online are two different things. Online readers don’t have a lot of patience, so you have to be very different in how to choose your article titles.
By this I mean easy to understand, grasp and comprehend. Everyone reads the title before anything else on a post, which is why it must be not be

taken lightly. You won’t get many readers for your articles if they lack interesting titles. So what exactly should you be doing to ensure that you learn how to choose your article titles? So our topic will be on how to choose your article titles.
If you want to know how to choose your article titles effectively, give them something they can use.
One effective article title writing technique is to make it personal because people are always interested in how it’s going to profit them. They’re always looking for the “me” factor when they’re reading. Just like this – you are reading this because “you” want to benefit from it. By doing this you automatically connect to the reader while at the same time you have the reader connect to you. Just about every article title you will see usually tries this approach, so check them out and you’ll see what I mean.
Also try and add humor to your article titles, and while this may not apply for every type of article, it’s usually a good idea. When people are laughing, they tend to forget things such as wondering if they can trust you or not, etc. If you are usually not a funny person then you should probably forget about this one. Obviously not all topics are funny so make sure you don’t force something funny on a serious topic. That is all anyone can do is to try things out when you learn how to choose article titles. Also try new approaches that you have never done.
How to choose your article titles is all about being different
If you would like to try to advance a step, then use a ‘shock value’ in your article titles and don’t just surprise your readers but shock them with your titles. Remember that you can shoot yourself in the foot if you miss it and you can easily alienate your audience forever. Certainly something that is shocking always makes people have to find out what it is all about. If you get it right, you can have tons of readers for your article; however, see to it that the title connects with the content of your article.
Certainly a little something that is shocking makes people have to learn exactly what your article is all about. If you have it zeroed in, anybody can easily get tons of readers with respect to your article titles, nonetheless, assure that the article title hooks up with the content of your article. If you happen to be creating article titles and have no experience or expertise about it, then you can be headed for tons of stress. So just celebrate the fact that you’re learning how to choose your article titles correctly and moving forward with the basics as well as continue writing article titles until you start seeing the titles that move you.
If you want to know how to choose your article titles effectively – Do This…
Work hard to enhance your article titles by changing them out and using something different. That happens to happen to be an important strategy with respect to writing every kind of content for or any kind of titles. No one was born recognizing just how to develop killer headlines, as well as something that needs to grow and be studied as time goes on.

Great tips on developing article titles! I certainly agree with you about the value of putting in the time to come up with the right title. In fact my title and finding just the right image to support my article are the first two things I do before I ever begin working on the body of the article. Thanks!
Hi Marrquita,
I do the same thing but I sometimes have a hard time choosing the picture. It’s not easy looking for a picture that works with the article. Sometimes I get lucky though. Thanks for your comment and I hope you’re doing great.
If you’re goal is SEO, a cute title that doesn’t include keywords will reduce your ranking. Those titles are boring!! What I do is use a plugin called headspace2 that adds a title and description and make that title keyword based and the first sentence of description too. I think this cancels out my “visible” title which can be more on the clever side. Could be wrong… but may be a good compromise.
Hi Kathryn,
I’ve never heard of Headspace 2 before today but It seems like something that’s pretty powerful. I checked out a video on it and It really does suggest some good keywords. I’m not sure how it works but if it can help create seo titles then I’m all for it.
The only thing I would be worried is if the top competitor for for a keyword is also using better keyword phrases that are not suggested. There is so much involved in getting organic traffic. Then again there a few articles out there that are beating out more than a few just because they’re so interesting.
Thanks for the comment Kathryn. I really like your blog.
Rick – the beauty of the matrix working now including Social Media as well as more analytical things like choices of keywords, linking to high rank pages and systems that can be gained is that a clever title and a well written article can get that Social Media boost through comments and reshares.
Only using keywords isn’t good, but forgoing keywords for the cute factor cuts your scope unless you have a very large and active community. This is why I do a clear headline and keep the clever and quality content in the article.
Great tip Kathryn, I’ll take that one with me. Using a good title with Social Media comments and reshares with an active community is an excellent idea. I’ve been focusing on a lot of seo lately but this will take it to a whole new level. I’m still learning more about the Social Media stuff though. I’m going to go back and look up some more tips like these from your blog later today. Take care!
Rick (great name!)
What do you mean we don’t have a lot of patience, we’re just in a hurry, afraid we’re going to miss something. It’s just like when I was a kid. I wanted to stay up late and get up early so I didn’t miss anything. Actually, that was a much better kind of hurry up.
Most recently in all of my writing and speaking I’ve been coming from my heart. And, I like to raise an eyebrow every once and a while, too. I’ve not gone wrong with those two techniques yet.
Regards,
RICK
Hey Rick, I like your name too : ) You have some great tips and thanks for adding to the post. I think when you write or speak from the heart it always gets more readers. People hate dealing with cold, faceless company driven people that always give that corporate feel. People want to know people who know what it’s like to go down the same road they are going down…someone who is generally interested in their success. Thanks for providing that Rick. Take care my friend!
Hey Rick,
Yep, I must agree with you. You can’t go wrong by coming from the heart. Great truth
Akos
Hey Rick,
excellent article!
Really good point about emphasizing the benefit or “what’s in it for me?” factor in the headline.
Talk soon,
Kevin
Thanks for that Kevin, I try to get the “what’s in it for me” in my titles if I can. So much is usually given about the products and services and not enough for the prospect. Sometimes we don’t consider that the more excited we get about selling our opportunity the more we can really be our own worst enemy. Thanks for noticing that!
Writing is a huge thing that many of my clients ask me about. I have done writing for newspapers, and even have an English degree. However, blog writing is much different. Newspaper headlines still have that stiff upper lip when it comes to creating titles, but with blogging, no matter the niche, the sky is not even the limit.
Your ability to write an article could be awesome, but your title could break you. It is what people will be curious about before diving in.
Great article!
Hi Nile, thanks for your expert tips. A title really can be awesome or break you. I try to include what my niche is looking for as well as add some long tail keyword phrases for the search engines. I sometimes don’t put as much thought into it as I should but I look to get better every day. Thanks for commenting and any tips you have for me feel free to come back and add your viewpoint. Have a great day!
Hey Rick,
Cool tips here.
I have gone over a course (which i’m not going to name) that teaches some copy writing. They recommend books on copy writing from the big guys like Dan Kennedy, Mr. Carlton, Frank Kern and so on.
Thanks for the info
Best
Akos
Hi Akos, thanks for the advice. I still digging through a course from the David Garfinkle. Great tips but you know how it is. It takes practice to get where you need to get. it’s a real money machine when you get it down in a unique way though, including all the other stuff that goes along with it to make it work. Hope to talk more soon!
Rick
Thanks for the tips Rick.
I think that creativity is important when creating a compelling title. You have to get inside your target audiences head to figure out what they are looking to learn, and then you have to come up with a creative way to suggest that you have the answer.
This post reminded me of how important it is to focus on this. It’s funny how we tend to forget the importance of some things that seem to be minor. Thanks for the reminder!
-Kyle
Thanks Kyle,
Article titles are very important as you probably know and they really help people get to know you. Especially if your body talks about something you wanted to know or struggled with when you first started. We usually go through the same struggles when starting out. But like you said, it’s funny how we sometimes forget how important minor things are when we create something to share with people who want it. Thanks for your comment Kyle!
Rick
Great tips on article marketing, Rick.
I must admit, article writing linking to my blog is something I need to get back into. Your post is a timely reminder for me.
Thank you
Pete
Thanks Pete and I’m glad you found it helpful.
Rick
Great tips on choosing article titles.. I am one of those online people that don’t have a lot of patience!! LOL Thanks, Rick
Hi Holly, I’m glad you found the post helpful. Sometimes when you speak from the heart (like you do) the article do great. SEO and all the article marketing strategies are always helpful and can do amazing things but there is more than one way to get the job done.
Thanks for checking it out!
Rick
Hi Rick,
great post with valuable hint on how to choose a title.
Making the title so it is ‘for them’ seems an approach I would like the best.
The shock value may get people curiosity and get the search engine spiders go wild, but it is not my style.
Thank you for the suggestions and your time and effort writing this.
You obviously had the reader in mind, when you wrote it.
I agree with you rick! you got to have an interesting title to capture the eyes of the readers. Even I will be curious if I read a great title. Your suggestion can help us improve more in our articles. Thanks for the share.
Thanks Stevie, I appreciate that and how have you been? Hope all is going well with you. I’m sure it is.
